This is a question for Oldies who were left in 1 of the previous posts so this one is exclusively for them.

Please post your experience in Canada if u have lived here for more then 4 years .Please let us all know when u came ;what were u doing before coming here ;What did u feel in u'r initial years ; how u got what u wanted ; and finally a summary on what u think of the transformation.

I want all of u to mention things in Details and am expecting some shots from Chandresh ; Biomed : Jake and people like that.

First of all thanks a lot for starting this thread. Let me be the first one to answer the post.

My story would not be very long though. Originally I am from New Delhi. I have Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and professionally I am a Biomedical Engineer. Before immigrating to Canada I was working in the Middle East for quite a few years.

I landed in Canada during the winter of 1997. I spent 2 months as my vacation and from the beginning of 3rd month I started my job search. Fortunately within the very first week I got three offers, I decided in favor of my present employer and since than I am working happily with the same company.

Within last six years I have been promoted three times, so professionally I am very much satisfied with my position.

As a side note I would like to mention that I never had to upgrade myself in Canada to be accepted as an Engineer.

I did not come to this country for money or better life style as I was enjoying best possible ( what I deserve) life style with a decent earning. My sole purpose of immigration was my son’s education, I don’t have any hesitation in accepting, that purpose has been solely defeated because of poor standard of education (schooling) in Canada.

Thanks and regards.
Biomed

Biomed, i always like your postings because they are very honest and straight unlike some others who are just pretenders (i am sorry to say that).

It is ludicrous to see that there are a few mumbai born "French Canadians" as posters here who are perhaps more canadians than canadian themselves.

hi all

this thread is not started for a mud fight but is a serious discussion wherein new and prospective immigrants can learn from the mistakes and experiences of other old and senior immigrants so please try and add value to the cause and nothing else.

Thanking you

Nishit
