so in all the aforesaid countries we can continue to assume family income instead of personal income as that will depend on case to case basis.

Hello Nishit,

I had suggested you ask K Raj for things in Singapore since he seems to have a good knowledge not only of Canada, but Singapore too, since he lives there and wants to come here. He should be able to provide a better answer.

In any case, I left Singapore 4 yrs back!

Chandresh

Sorry for the delay buddy, I did not look in this thread actually.

Well Savings in Singapore is depends on you family size and the your living style. If you are bachelor you can share house and save more.

Here are facts:
1) House 2 Bed room S$800 to 850 (HDB)
2 Bed room S$1300 to 1500 (Condo) Avg.
2) Electric+water bill S$100.
3)Cable TV S$(30)
4)Tel. S$ 100.
5)Mobile ???
6)Movie S$ - 10
7)Taxi minimum fare S$2.40

8) Weekly food expence - max S$ 150 (for two - resturants not included)

9) Conveyance Weekly - S$100 max. (if you travel by MRT, BUS and some time taxi)

Cloths are cheaper than UK but at par India.

There is a 15% tax on your salary, 10% will be waived if you stay more than 6 months in a financial year.

Medical is not free or subsidised for work permit holder but bit subsidised for PR holder.

Education is not free.

Singapore govt. is eager to offer citizenship if you qualify but there is no dual citizenship option.

In my view this is not a good place for money saving as compared with UK,Switzerland and HongKong. If you are getting S$5000(Wich is very good salary here) per month and living in a house with family without sharing basis then you can same max RS. 50,000 to 60,000 per month (if you don't have any kids).

Pls feed free to ask if you need further info.

Cheers
Raj.
