1.In India today, only salaries in IT and Finance are high . Rest of the companies pay peanuts.
2.Gov. Jobs alos pay peanuts, but with bribes you can make a lot
, also you get some power with gov. Jobs like IAS, IPS etc, so you can acta smart
Even low level gov. Officers, there is NOT much you can do to them, so they will also act smart
3.Rest of the money is in business and black money. For that you need muscle power, connections, corruption etc. Impossible to carry an honest business in India without bribes, corruption, black money, illegal activities
Salaries might seem high in India, but so is the cost of living and RE estate prices, especially in Metros and even Tier 2 cities. Everything is expensive due to corruption, inflation , wastage, political interference.
When you left India your salary might have been Rs. 10,000 and the same salary might be Rs. 100,000 today, but the 10 Lac flat is now 1.5 crore . The Rs. 100 shirt is now Rs. 1,500 in fancy shopping malls. The 50 rs cinema tkts are rs. 500 in multiplexes for evening shows
.. mera bharaat mahan
40% of food is wasted in India due to rats, lack of proper storage facilities, heat, lack of proper transport, corruption, middleman, poor infrastructure, no electricity, improper refrigeration, red tape, bureaucracy , octroi , paper work
In Canada the wastage is due to the end consumer and their affluence, its NOT due the System. The end consumer especially White people ( not Chinese and indians ) will waste lot of food and throw food away and rot food in their house
The poor farmer and the end consumers suffer bcoz of this. But the miidleman make good money. The farmer will get Rs. 10 for hos crop and commit suicide and the end consumer will pay Rs. 100 for the same crop in the market, bazaar ( too expensive for him ) ..with ALL the rest of the money eaten in between by Middleman

Disagree with you.
1. Nope. IT has saturated in India. I was once dreaming to be software engineer as salary is 5 X more and work 50% less. Nope. I earn more than my friends (IT) here. Now since many qualified people shifted to IT, other job pays really well.
2. Nope. Govt. job pay very well. Plus they have option to take bribes not work properly not come to work but get attendence etc.. Central Govt. pays the best. State Govt. also pays well. Govt. job was peanuts in the 80's, 90's 2000's but not any more. Anyways, all is relative.
3. Agreed.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
Agree that in 2002 things were very different, but nowadays India is completely changed.
One lakh Rs a month us like nothing. The rise of entrepreneurship is whats taking the lead in India
Going forward its this self-employed culture that will bring money & respect too in India

Yes healthcare is free, but do you really get it unless you have an emergency you are treated like a guinea pig.
Everything costs money, either you pay at the hospital directly & demand the best Dr to look at your case, or you pay the Govt in taxes & wait for an official emergency to get to meet the medical specialist.
From the flip side , what is really admirable about the Canadian Medical System is that there's not preference for the socially elite or better earners and even the poor who are not working have medical support.
Despite all the delays , I am happy with the medical system and till date for the past 9 years , we have not encountered a non sincere doctor or have returned from the ER dissatisfied.
