apartment building with desis

Hi,
I am looking for an apartment building for my parents to stay. Are there any areas / buildings in GTA where you have more desis living?

You will find a few desis in most apartment buildings. However the following areas have more concentration of desi :

1. Etobicoke north : Finch ave/Albion road/Hwy 27/ etc..
2. North York : Keele/Lawrence
3. Scarborough : Markham/Ellesmere
4. Mississauga : Near square one

While it is good company for parents, some of these apartments have a very depressing atmosphere.

Not all, but generally when there are too many desis in an apartment building they are as nosey in your personal life as in India. If they are doing labour jobs, they tend to be jealous of those who work in thier own field or frown upon someone who does not prefer labour jobs. In short, you need to be one of 'them' to be accepted in thier group.

Look for apartments which house not more than 10-12% desis.

BTW, these are just my personal observations and opinion - may not be shared by others.

Thanks guys. one more question....where can I get apartments for about $900 rent?....Most of the apartments I come across are $1100 ? any tips?
