HI friends, looking for some dos/donts for a canadian Desi moving to US on TN...is it worth taking a car from Ontario and then getting it registered there in US especially if you are planning to sell it off soon anyways..?? Any other precautions??
don't bring the car in USA. Cars are cheaper in USA. even if u try to sell it here, u get better price in Canada..

- you probably don't try to do speeding, if you get few speeding tickets, you will have trouble getting the new TN at the border.
- they will issue you the term driving license, i.e. the last day of your TN will be the last day of your license so renew both accordingly.

Not much precautions, just enjoy the life there. If you are easily selling the car then sale it in Canada. If not then take it along because insurance is much cheaper over there and could offset the loss.
Not sure if you heard of bank/credit union named DCU..(more for desis). you can get account opened for nice features and could give you CC without much of a credit history. online bank so no banking fees but much better than pcchoice.
similar to redflagdeals there is deals2buy.com and edealinfo.com sites with nice deals from all over the shops.
I think there is not much of a restriction on how much booz you can carry so carry as much allowed. Though it is almost half priced in regular stores than over here.
Do not take cuban cigars if you are into it.
Since not sure if this is the first time move to US, not sharing more info. If that is the case then I can blaber more based on place you will be moving to.

Well I have moved to Illinois for the time being....Did you mean to say that I have to apply for a US driving liscence?? I was under the impression that the Canadian is valid. Also I finally drove my Car here...how long before I register it to the local number plate?
