Oh....As much as I understand this is how it works.
RCMP will take my fingerprints and sends it to India for criminal record check. Indian police sends the result back to RCMP and then they will forward it to CIC.
Am I wrong here??

Thanks SS. I guess I am thinking too much about it. If everything goes as you mentioned then I think it shouldn't take that long. Let's hope in last 10 years the additional time has not changed from 2 months to 8-10 months( as posted on cic.gc.ca). I will keep posting on updates so it may be helpful to other people like me.
Again thanks for giving me little confidence.

Hi,
As SSji has mentioned, its not a big deal.
I was also asked for fingerprinting. the only frustrating part is that, it delays the process.
Ohter wise, as long as u havent committed any crime, no need to worry.
Just go to an approved fingerprinting place, and get your work done.
If you are in the brampton area, let me know. One of my friend is approved to do fingerprinting for RCMP.
PM me if you want his name/address/phone no.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for information. My main concern how much extra time will be added to the processing because of this. I know that my record is clean so I am not worried about that part.
So, if you can share how long it took for you that would be great.
Thanks,
M
