has any one rented carpet cleaning vaccum cleaner from the grocery/hardware store, how easy is it to operate/rental charges etc, please let me know

It is pretty easy to use and operate. The instructions are usually on the machine or a booklet included with it.
It is rather heavy though - much heavier than regular straight vacuum cleaners.
Can be a pain carrying them up and down the stairs.
Cost is usually about $25 a day.

Can anyone suggest based on their personal experience which vacuum cleaner is better a central vacuum or regular vacuum. We are looking for a vacuum for regular cleaning of our carpet light wt & with powerful suction. We bought Dyson Vacuum earlier from Home depot it is powerful but its too heavy to move around. For Central vacuum which make is better.
