http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2010/09/01/ontario-auto-insurance638.html

This is one of the stupidest reform imposed by us on McGuinty and his cronies. Under the disguise of providing consumer with more choices, what it means that what was recently covered under policy is now optional. That means we will have to pay extra to get those benefits.

Also, some of the benefits are being reduced.

There is no way I am going to vote for Liberals in next provincial election :cuss:

Will that reduce the insurance premium?

Lets accept this as is and move on. McGuinty already knows that he is not coming back - so make hay while the sun shines.

there is no denial that system is being abused.

I hope it reduces the premium ... but I dont think that will be the case.

How is it done in other province? Is it canada wide issue?

I think according to new legislation anybody can change the insurance provider at any time. i.e. Don't have to wait until renewal and no additional penaly to be charged on that by the existing client.

These changes are for Ontario only. BTW other provinces don't have to worry about this as there is no hefty premiums.

This one clearly explains what is going to change.

We will pay the same premium for now Half the coverage.

Your premiums are not going to drop. But if you want the same overage as before you have to pay even more.

One other example how the Govt / Business rip-off the customers.

HST was another way - We give you $1000 credit buy you keep paying the extra tax for your life.
