I ve switched to Primus and Acanac .... and its costing me almost the same 52/- .... Just trying something different ... Acanac may offer better speeds for that price and Primus can offer both home phone ( non voip ) and internet for 40/- ... if they have a receiver in your area .....

I called primus already. They gave me a rate of $30 for phone (with 2 features) and internet $38.....so TTL $68+taxes.So does that mean they don't have reciever in my area?

Is there any home phone (with no features/no long dist etc) for like $10 or so (non VOIP)????If there is then I can keep that line just for ADT security alarm purpose and get vonage for my regular usage.

you are comparing apple and oranges. 1) you should compare what are getting from Bell and what are going to get from TS.

I just ordered internet from them $32+ taxes for 200 gb, 5mbps speed. Bell is giving me 25 gb + 2mbps for $43. I will buy my own modem for $25 so I will saved from monthly modem charges of $4 as done by Bell.

For $24+ $3 call id, I can get home phone from TS which I will not be ordering for now.

You can also check with Rogers as they give some bundle discount.

What is the break up of $52 to Bell? Is it with taxes? May be it is with their lite version of internet. Contract+bundled rate?

Cheapest nonVOIP home phones are over $20 a month.

The breakup is $24 for phone (2 features)+$28 for internet (essential plus) which gives upto 2 mbps and they gave me usage of 40gb as exception along with bell security.Taxes are extra! But when I called them last week they offered me performance package with 6mbps at same price if I go in contract (which I don't want).

Probably yes , they may not have receiver in your area as well ....

Check with ADT if a dry loop can work for the purpose .... I think Bell charges $8 / mo for that ....

How does Comwave compare with Vonage ???
