I have been using Primus phone for over 2 years now and find no difference in comparison to Bell, except for that its costs a bit less. I have been thinking of moving my internet connection to them as well as their Internet/home-phone (not VOIP)/long-distance bundle costs only $69.95 a month with 9 free features on the phone (call waiting, voicemail, caller-id...etc). I will run both Rogers and Primus simultaneously for a while to see if their internet works better than Rogers. I have been experiencing problems and slower speeds with Rogers internet for a while.

Would love to hear from others who have primus internet.

I was looking up at signing up at $69.95 deal from Primus as well but I just wasn't sure of their overall service and reliability. Let me know how it works out for you Rajeev.

I have the same package as Rajeev but in all honesty Its OK.. I had experienced time in past where the IT staff upgrading the system and our phone/internet system got down for the entire day. Such situation happened to us thrice in 2 years.

For people like you, me and Rajeev who need to be on internet, phone, fax 24/7 should have something reliable.

Rogers has different plans which provide varying levels of speeds..

I am on a promotion where i get 6 months home phone free and 25% off internet and cable but after the promotion i would end up paying 76$ for basic digital cable + basic phone + High speed Ultra light bundle ( which gives 1 megabits per sec or equivalent to 110Kilobytes per sec download)

I use Skype for long distance to US and Canada for which i paid 15$ for 1 year i think it has gone up to 30$ now.

I was almost wondering if the mods could make this thread as sticky for the benifits of fellow desis and list benifits & disbenfits of various communications companies and about the plan they are providing while i was surfing the net for better deals on internet/phone (iam not that fancy about just need a basic phone woudnt even mind using VOIP phone) but i cannot live without high speed internet. Came across a company called Look communications they are offering 39.0$ + 5$ modem rental for high speed DSL internet.
I also had some issues with a company called CIA communications better not to deal with this company as they don't even have proper tech support/customer service they were luring customers with a deal of 39.95$ with VOIP phone & high speed internet free with it but modem rentel costed around 9$ for phone and internet. They didnt even came to hook up my connections and charged me undue shipping for the telephone &internet modem. I am fighthing with them to get my shipping charges back. This company is based in Alberta. I urge fellow desis to post their good/bad experiences wrt to internet/phone services and also if they know any company which offers good deal on internet/phone.
Thanks

I used iphone (voip service) for almost a year .. Was pretty cheap .. cost me 14$ for no contract or 10$ for 2 year contract.

The same company has a long distance service for india which has given me the lowest rate to india .. 6.9c/m

The service seems to go down a lot but would recomend it for a new comer who is on a cash crunch
