When will Desis learn about privacy and also some etiquette and manners?.
I know it is an isolated Desi but will it be a lesson for others?.
Tyler Clementi Suicide: Emotions Run High at Rutgers After Teen's Death
Posted by Edecio Martinez
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBS/AP) At Rutgers University in New Jersey, it's being called "Black Friday" as students mourn classmate Tyler Clementi, who committed suicide last week by jumping off the George Washington Bridge after the freshman's sexual encounter with another man was broadcast online.
Dharun Ravi, Clementi's roommate, and fellow Rutgers freshman Molly Wei, both 18, have been charged with invading Clementi's privacy.
Middlesex County prosecutors say the pair used a webcam to surreptitiously transmit a live image of Clementi having sex with a man on Sept. 19 and that Ravi tried to webcast a second encounter on Sept. 21, the day before Clementi's suicide.
Rutgers students are wearing black and leaving flowers or mementos at a makeshift memorial today. The Rutgers football team also plans a moment of silence before its game tomorrow against Tulane.
More than 100 people attended a campus rally Wednesday night, with some lying on the ground and chanting things like, "If my dorm's not safe, Rutgers isn't safe."
"Had he been in bed with a woman, this would not have happened," said Lauren Felton, a 21-year-old student from Warren. "He wouldn't have been outed via an online broadcast and his privacy would have been respected and he might still have his life."
Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan said Thursday that more charges were possible under New Jersey's hate-crimes law. "We will be making every effort to assess whether bias played a role in the incident, and, if so, we will bring appropriate charges," he said in a statement.

Sunny Leone a true Canadian DESI now back in India !.
I would disagree that this incident happened because the idiot happens to be of desi origin. This goes beyond privacy and etiquette and any moron with an immature brain could have committed this act. Nevertheless, it is shameful.

Our Desi prejudice towards gay people is well known. We are no better than extreme right wing Christians who believe that being gay is committing sin. As for us, the government in India has not dared to decriminalize homosexuality (which is punishable by a jail term.
Our culture relating to privacy (if one existed in Indian society) has allowed us to intrude, and delve into the lives of others, make our personal judgments, and introduce an religion to back up our prejudice and bigotry.
It might be very long before we believe in allowing privacy in the life of others, and accept differing views as "normal".
Did we just forget the recent incident of gang rape and spread of video on facebook within our own beautiful country? Idiots are there in all the communities. It is the technology and it's other horrible side. Just because it is easy to spread any sh** folks do that.
Again good to see Ilovena and VM on the same side of fence .
BTW this desi was also a big fan of Rajni..just went into wrong film production

dimple2001,
I sort of think you are wrong
Many desi's have a very nosy attitude towards other's personal lives. I am not sure if that is a trait of desi's alone of or if there are some other ethnic groups which have that mentality
But my personal experience is that it's more of a desi trait
