Caidur, you may be right and wrong.
You may be right if you are speaking for some desis who have spent their lifetime sitting in India dreaming of the US(1st choice for a 3rd world resident) and finally made it to the US neighbour.
You are totally wrong if we talk about canadian born/raised desis(canadian citizens) and some of them even carry US green cards and European passports. These people chose to live in Canada for their personal reasons. They don't feel the need to go there except for visiting their friends and families. I'm one of them. None of my family members/relatives who have been living in Canada, US or England for last 45 yrs wanna relocate.
We have quite a few board members who are canadian citizens and do not plan to relocate to the US.
Dear Guju,
Whatever I have mentioned has reference only to few or most of those who are intending to immigrate or have allready immigrated to Canada in recent times. I am sure that those who are born canadians are not bitten by the "US" bug.

THIS IS MY FIRST POST OUT HERE. I AM JOINNING THE FRUSTRATED DESI BUNCH IN FEB FROM INDIA. BUT BELIEVE ME I AM EQUALLY OR MORE FRUSTRATED IN INDIA. I AM NOT ONE OF THE BIG SHOTS LIKE SOME OF U, LIKE SOFTWARE PROGRAMERS, CA'S, ENGINEERS. I HAVE ONLY 7 YEARS EXPERIENCE OF PHARMA SALES. YES ! SALES, NOT MARKETING. I HAVE ONLY A MEDIOCRE 3 YEARS B.SC DEGREE. OF MY 7 YRS OF EXP 5 YRS I'VE WORKED AS A MEDICAL REPRESENTATIVE & 2 YRS AS AREA MANAGER. I'M NOT FORWARDING MY RESUME, THE ONLY THING I'M TRYING 2 POINT OUT THAT NO OTHER G-9 COUNTRY WILL ALLOW ME 2 MIGRATE. BUT I REALLY SYMPATHISE THE FRUSTRATIONS OF SOME ONE OF U, LIKE A DR. Well Said Basu. I find that there are more people who are not IIT or IIM. And Yes life is not only software. There are many other industries. The problem in India is only the people who are Having some money or have seen one country or other will try for Immigration. I have all my friends working as Class I officers i nPSU in India and none can even think of Immigrating anywhere. Basu there will be fewer people like you who want to Immigrate but more of the Engineers and software ones who will try for immigration.
Yes we would also like to read your success story after february in these columns of Canadian Desi.
As mentioned by Earlier members here, Indians should network in Canada then they can become a big force and then I think there will be less frustrated reports on this board. Already I know that we Indians are very good in "Bhaichara" and continue it in Canada as well.

Milind, let me tell you something. People like Basu are more successful in this country as they come here ready to do "any" job. IT profs and Engrs try to get into their prof, some succeed, some don't. Those who do not succeed get into odd jobs and keep on cursing their fate.
It is our frank advise that the so-called big shots should stay back in India. Indians with BS/MS degrees who see no future in India and face day to day hardships and are willing to do tough jobs should definately try to come here. The only prob. is that the waiting period is long in their category.
In response to "Baichara" stuff, you may consider any 3rd world country as a Baichara. Out of almost 2 billion indian population, what is the percentage of rich? Almost negligible. Rest of the population is deprived of basic amenities and comforts. These people consider moving out dreaming of a better life.......you may name them Baichara or Economic Refugees.
