Its been one year I landed in Canada. I worked as a SAP SD consultant in India for couple of years.
First 3 months I searched only for SAP jobs and later realised I have to start somewhere. Currently I am working in a Bank as a Documents verification officer. It’s a cool backend job, sitting in front of system and processing the loans. But I like IT job a lot, even it’s my parents wish too.
My last company in India is IBM. When I got my Visa, I had a discussion with my PM about my resignation. He asked me to work for another 6 months and take 10 days leave for round trip, otherwise you may not join IBM again in future. But my family is here, so I resigned my job and came here.
I have few questions
1. Even I am applying for jobs not getting any response, Is it because my resume says not working as a SAP consultant from last one year ?
2. I had applied for couple of jobs in IBM Canada, also got a call from HR, later no response. Does this mean I am in IBM block list?
3. In worst case if I don’t get SAP job in Canada, after I got my citizenship, am I eligible for TN visa even I don’t have recent IT experience?. My qualification - BSc Computer Science & MBA.
Please don’t suggest me to go back to India, I don’t want to cross the Canada border until I got Citizenship. I have everything here except my dream job.
Thank you
Sri
Keep on trying ... sooner or later you can hit it if you have had real time experience ...... Don't let down the efforts ...
Very unlikely that IBM India will share HR details with IBM Canada and vice versa .
After citizenship , you are eligible for a TN Visa provided some one from across the border is interested ..........
You can try showing that you have been working in India till recently in SAP SD .... it might not be as easy for employers to do a verification check in another country as compared to in Canada .........
