Hi all,
Did you come alone first or brought your family along?
Bringing family along means showing corresponding (more) funds in one's name. Plus you have more heads to care for in a foreign land right from day one.
Coming alone ensures that you do your settling down and job search with focus and concentration. However, once you do get a job, you want your family to join you as soon as possible. But I've heard that it is hard to get holidays within the first year of your employment. What does one do under such circumstances? Especially, if your family have never flown before.
Pls advise.
Hi,
Anyone there who could answer my question? This was my first ever post and I suppose nobody took notice.
Thanks anyway.
You will not get an answer to this question because the answer to it is entirely upto you. It is a matter of you and your family taking the decision. Some people may agree with the advantages you have mentioned for coming alone while others may disagree and feel that there are more benefits in the family coming together.
As regards getting leave is concerned, I presume one generally become eligible for annual vacation(generally 2 weeks for new employees) at the end of one year.
Your last query about family finding it difficult coming by themselves later on, I do not see the logic. I am sure you have some friends/relatives who can take the responsibility of reaching your family to the airport. There are direct flights of Air Canada from New Delhi, which will avoid the hassle of changing flights en route. Once they land here, they will automatically come out thro the proper exit at Toronto airport. The airport security/customs will ensure that. You don't have to worry! Simple!
