Dear CDs,

We are relocating shortly to Vancouver.

My son is 5 years old and have already completed his LKG in an international school, India. I just dropped in the school yesterday for asking TC. They are asking us to pay Rs.10,000/- to get one according to the schools policy. Already I have paid them lakhs and they don't want us to leave us without taking somemore.

How can I solve? I have 2 options...

1. Just move to Canada without TC ( can I join him in the upper kindergarten?)
2. To pay the money they are asking and get the TC, so that he joins UKG.

Please suggest me.

No need for TC. Just bring vaccination record and birth certificate (together with PR Card) and that is enough.

There is no UKG/LKG and only KG here.

Dear Ash20,

Thanks for your reply.

So what I understand is that the KG is for 2 years and kids are put in the 1st or 2nd year according to their age. Am I correct?

KG is for one year only as of now in Vancouver. If kid is born in 2006 (any month)then he/she will go to KG this year (2011).

OOO...

Do you mean Sep 2011?

I have a 3 years old kid, Should she go for Preschool for 2 years? That will make it too costly...

Canadaon:

Do not worry too much about your kids schooling. They will be just fine here and you do not need to spend a penny.

As said by Ash20, just bring birth certificates and Vaccination certificates for your kids from a doctor. That's all you need.
