Unless I know your profile completely, I will not be able to advice on your PR.
You need an LMO to have your work permit extended. You need an employer to get an LMO. Some LMOs are easier from some Provinces.
Tell us briefly about your academic / work profile.

no idea what so ever.. still no replies.. any info pls
Your options:
1. PR: If your profile fits into categories like NOC 1122, you can apply for PR but be advised that the annual quota is only 500. Currently the quota is over and you need to wait till next June ....
2. PR: You can file PR application under one of provincial Nominee Programs. It works but you need have an employer to support your application.
3. Work Permit: As I told earlier, you need an employer who will file LMO for you to have your work permit extended. LMO is not really a simple process as on today and it will be expensive under present market conditions. Also after getting your work permit, if there is no job and you are not paying the taxes then the whole thing will be a waste from PR point of view.
4. PR and Work Permit: If you can get a Provincial Nomination, you can always apply for a work permit while your PR application is in process.
5. Work Permit from Ontario: If you can join in a company now, the company may be able to work on your LMO. If you are already on company payroll, it will be easier for the company to extend the work permit through LMO.
The option 4 works well from provinces other than Ontario.
