I agree with you sridharm. If you never lived in US and directly come to Canada from home country than you never care or compare with USA . But moving from USA to Canada and adjustment takes sometime. Everything looks so expensive in Canada (HST/PST/GST, high income tax, lower salaries, high cost of food/car/gas/flights/housing and less saving).

The nearest Canadian city to US is Calgary,AB (Lowest taxes in Canada, good salaries, less socialist mindset and reasonable living cost).

Also ... I have seen people who move to USA from Canada after staying long period in Canada ..... see lot of negative things in USA. But most of the people who move to California from Canada .... are very happy about weather. Normally we like the city/place to where we moved first and stayed longer time.
