Can we stop assuming that everyone who gets married in Canada, gets PR and gets divorced - does it for papers only!!!

Relationships break all the time and people remarry, even if the tale sounds too good to be true

I hope admins and mods discourage such comments

You can sponsor when you come back to Canada, is there a reason you asked "when" as I heard there is some new rule being implemented

I can’t comment on your situation since I don’t know if you did everything to just get PR or it was genuine relationship. As long as you didn’t hurt anyone everything is fine.

You have to be very careful when you sponsor your spouse

• Fill up questioner very carefully – How you met? Who introduce? How long you know each other, Engagement ceremony ( explain), Marriage celebration ( explain), Gifts, relatives and friend – Finally and very important ( Honeymoon) – proofs has to be submitted ( photos, gifts , letter) – Its always good to invite Close family member from both side and keep their proof.

• Second important thing is proof of communication after marriage – ( letters, phone calls, gifts, money support, etc…) – communication has to be frequent – do not forget imp dates for gifts and letters ( Birthday, valentine, xmus, diwali gift etc..)

• Also, about previous spouse, how you met and why u divorce – small but clear explanation along with dispute and divorce proof

Remember, your file will be not as normal first timer, so you have to prepare yourself carefully, - I am sure you will take help from immigration agent in India to file your papers but you should be very careful, before submitting any papers , RE-CHECK them by yourself… go with every single line two time – there should be no miss informed or miss match on story. – If you do little mistake it may delay your fiel

My previous marriage was genuine, it didnt work out between us, he was being a jerk and i didnt want to live the way he wanted me to. Reason i ask "WHEN" is because i heard there was a new rule implemented early this year. I just wanted to clarify if its true for spouse sponsorship. Thanks

Start building up your case now..like BP suggested have regular communications and collect proofs etc. Take note of possible negative points.
Go through the application form and you will know what to do during this time period to build a credible and strong case.
All the best !
