It is now $149 at BestBuy/Futureshop, was $199 a couple of months ago. Would this be less than 100$ by Christmas?
I am planning to get one, hence the question.

Feel free to borrow mine and play around to see if you like it .
IMO its not worth even a dollor .

Growing Old Is Mandatory ..Growing UP is Optional
It is much better than high priced and over hyped Ipad at this price. You never know you can get it for 99 by Christmas.
If you have smart phone with data plan than you tether it with BB PB to get internet on the go! It has good hardware and processing speed. You can multitask in PB. Agreed there are less apps as compared to Ipad and Android. However whatever available are more than enough. You can hook up pb with tv you can surf and play whatever one wants. I see most of the you tube shows by hooking up with TV.
Good email, calendar and contact application. You can access office and most importantly pdf. I generally use pb for reading books and newspaper. It has angry bird and other famous games. What else you want. It is convenient to carry in transit. You can hold it with one hand. Honestly I don’t see any limitation. If you have bb smart phone, than it’s a win-win situation. You can use your smart phone as remote for playbook.
RIM is improving their operation system. You can also remotely access your home pc or laptop from playbook.
Main problem with Blackberry devices these days is the apps. There are not that many useful apps for Playbook. Even basic common apps like Yahoo, MSN messenger, Skype are missing from Playbook. It is still possible to use it for browsing, email, e-reader, MP3 player (though will not fit your pocket) and to watch movies.

While I do not rule out BB for the purpose it serves , waiting for delivery of my new buy Coby Kyros Tablet, they say it is value for money ! I got it for my Son to throw around.
Apart from price around 150$s ( there is one for lesser also) Two things I like are Android 4.0 operating system (Ice-Cream Sandwich) and Capacitive screen (cheaper alternative is with resistive screen)
Worth a look !! No I am not a dealer, Just a e-Buff like my 4 yrs old!

Hi san-hugo,
Please let me know your reviews after you receive and use it. I am looking to buy for a Kid and don`t want to spend too much of money on it and can wait for a while.
Thank you.
I bought it recently. It was on sale at BB for $149, and they were giving leather case, charging pod, and protective cover (all 3 together are $149 value) for additional $50. It is a good piece of gadget, only problem is that as someone said there are not many apps available for BB playbook. However, not bad at all for the price and compared to the more pricey tablets in the market.
