Good rate guys!
BTW, I bought a BlackBerry here (Bold 8230 or something, which is really an outdated model here/ Canada) for Rs. 9000. So it works out to CAD 163. A Play book at these prices seems a steal.
Peace

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
Future Shop refuses to pay the price difference because Walmart does not have stock. Walmart refuses to show the stock for 118 $s but will be selling the BB 32 GB wifi for 148$s
I saw few other tablets in walmart with price hovering around 100-140$. Quality wise, Since I am avid user of various high end tablets, I could see the difference primarily in screen smoothness, pixels, response to touch, features ( i hate samsung like soft home button on tabs and phone) , browser speeds etc. BB still is a top notch tab for such a low price. Nothing like ipad though. Samsung though android gets beaten on battery life.
For sure tablet war is just about to begin - eBay shows the Google 57$ tablet ( ofcourse do not expect capacitative screens like that of ipads, BBs or galaxy) but for sure for people not so finicky and more into utilities, these new low price tabs are great. Specially with intention of tossing one over to your trigger happy kid !
Watch this e bay price

So they didn't refund your money? That sounds like a scam. How the hell would they be able to say for sure if ALL Walmarts across the GTA are out of stock?
Did they actually show you fine print in their poilcy that has this stupid "out of stock" clause? If not, I'd write an email to their complaints dept. Or write a letter to some vp's in their corporate office, usually the most effective way of doing it. I would. Not for the measly 40 bucks, but just on principle.
Hope the trip to LCBO happened anyways, that would've been a really serious consequence of the Future Shop scam if not

Not to disagree with you - but having worked in retail sales initially, I have some experience how it works. To find out which store has stocks - go to the nearest store (eg. walmart) and ask the associate for the store number which has the exact item in stock. They can look up in their system using the SKU #. Get the phone number and give it to FS (or wherever you intend to price beat/match) and ask them to beat it. If they still refuse, get the CS name, Store manager's name and then approach the District Sales office with copy to HO with 15 days time to respond or initiate legal proceedings.
Different approaches work for different folks. Diplomatic but firm will work if you are not in hurry to get the item - the noisy approach helps to get it immediately. But creating a scene is an art - not everyone can do it.
As I said before - move on - there are better things in life to enjoy.
Peace!

Thanks for the clarification, Hiren. And this might work for stores that don't have a lot of branches. However I'm not clear how they can say for certain that all Walmarts don't have this item in stock - they're certainly not going to check every Walmart for every customer and since the stock situation can change from time to time, this seems more like an "escape" clause than legit policy for a big box like FS (who knows if a Walmart in Sarnia or another province still have some stock - in this case, they would have to honor the policy since)
I would follow up on this with the corporate office. I advocate a "diplomatic but firm" approach vs. making a lot of noise or creating a scene. All you stand to lose is some time.
