Hi all,
my parents visited two years back on single entry visitor visa. They returned back in four months. Now i would like to host them back, which visa should they apply for? What are pros and cons of each? your opinion on that will helpfull to me.
With Supervisa, they can live here for 2 years w/o having to renew their visa. Multiple visa lets them have a visa for eg, 5 or 10 years, they can live here for 6 months and then renew visa ( for another 6 months or apply for supervisa within Canada > with the same rules as you would have applied from home country )
Applying for supervisa requires them to takes medicals ( for sure ) adn the wait time can be 30 days + , but multiple visa can also have meds, depending on the visa officer
Supervisa requires sponsor ( you ) to show that to you meet LICO
ie., if its only you and 2 parents then 3 people = you must be earning $35K+
1 year health insurance, pre-purchased
Multiple and Super both require an invitation letter with your financial info
Thanks greg38 for your input.
in case you want an immediate visa (within 5-10 days) from India, apply for multiple instead of super, you do not have to buy expensive insurance of 100k and parents do not have to go for medicals. when they are here apply for supervisa as an extesnion of stay, they still do not have to go for the medicals but you will have to buy 100k insurance, but they can live here for first 6 months on cheaper insurance , then extend for another 2 yrs. Remember to apply their extension of stay (as supervisa) within 3 months, because now a days it takes 3-4 months for extension to come through. Most of the website will ask you to apply only one month in advance.
In case the extension does not come through before expiry of 6 months, parents can continue to stay in Canada pending extension. Your papers should be impeccable at all times, no compromise on that.
thanks san-hugo, i will go with multiple entry visa.
