Whenever you experience joy, peace, security, equanimity or purity, it is only because you are aligned with ALMIGHTY.
Normally you make a request for a specific period with single or multiple entries, when you apply for a VISA.
When you enter on a super visa, you normally obtain the insurance and I am sure it is for the full year and hence the IO at POE will issue the visa for an initial stay of One year and it could be renewed for another period of one more year after that, and they might ask you to take a second insurance policy, to cover the second year.
I am sure she can stay for upto FIVE LONG Years following the above procedure, one year at a time. Wait for some one to tell you if they have stayed here longer than Five Years.

Based on your information that it is a visitors visa, the standard duration of stay permitted is 6 months unless a date is stamped by the visa officer at the port of entry.
FH's information holds true for Supervisa.
Good luck and wish you good memories from your mom's visit. I assume she will be visiting next spring/summer..
