Indeed interesting ..
I haven`t made such mistakes except one ìe not setting up a financial foundation. Seems that against with some others in the list .... To take care of my financial foundation, I may have to stop fun and needs to put career ahead of all.

Good read, valid points.
I am glad I did not make most of these mistake and have number of good memories now. The only regret is despite having some potential , i did not do any side project along with regular job. but then I wanted to have fun and keep healthy relations and play. Even today as much I think of a side project, it just does not happen, weekends just fly. That is why I have most respect for people who manage to write a book or be part of a NGO, or do some charity work or even sell stuff online.

How many did you make?

------

All of these and similar articles are thought provoking and sure worth a read. But in practicality, at lease I find we do our own best at each level.

Who would not put his/her career ahead of his family and friends?: Your family helps you in your education and your friends tag along during those days and with cramming up the books etc.,after graduating and when you get a job, especially in the current state of employment, I would surely put my career ahead of all of the other items, just to hang onto the job and prove myself. And most of us have a lot of money to pay back also.

Stop having Fun? : Come on! we all have fun and in our own ways. But to a limit. We don't over do it.

Neglecting our health. : That guy must be living in a country where he has to pay for a Doctors visit. Here we get it for free with out OHIP Card. Yes he has a point.

Neglecting their aging Parents.: A few at least are happy to see us all leave the Basements, so that they can rent it. I love that AD that says do not put Cheese in their food preparations. That will get the kids out of the house in a hurry. May be the AD meant that the Mother should not put too much loving and care in her cooking. But who would not enjoy their Mother's food and cooking, after being brought up and taken care of for the first 25 years or more?!! Just because we have to go to a distant location to get started and make a go of it, doesn't mean that we neglected them, once we leave our native places. Also there is a time differential to take into account too. Currently with Skype and video conferencing etc., we get to call them for FREE. Yes they do miss us. But we also need a lot of room to spread our wings and also make new friends and get to meet them too and have FUN FUN FUN.

Financial foundation etc., : The only way you will save in the current days is by trying to live frugally. Try and save a few bucks, however small a sum it might be. Try and load this savings into a Life Insurance. Not term Life Insurance. That is the best. The rest follows. Start it early and start it young and take a huge policy, with limited payments.

Anything more? Yes there are many more points and some are a lot more difficult to accomplish. But worth trying.

FH.
