The airline offers 20 kg of free luggage. if you donot have 20 kg to take, you can even take bricks...

Funny you should say that.
When I first immigrated to Canada in 2002, I was allowed a carry on bag. However my bag was bigger and weighed more than the 7 kg allowed. so I put my Canadian leather jacket, stuffed it with whatever I could (like books, sweets, camera etc...) and passed the luggage checking area. Since my bag now was smaller and weighed less, I was allowed to pass.
True story.
It happens.

oh ok, so you used your Canadian leather jacket when you first immigrated to Canada in 2002. That makes perfect sense.
Anyways, back to the point. In some warped parallel universe, asking someone going to India to go to a food bank and get canned meat to carry with them may be good advice. In the regular universe most people live in, it sounds utterly ridiculous and reasonable grounds to question the sanity of the source.
Unless someone specifically asks for advice on how to get free food or how to combat poverty, I request you to refrain from adding your "food bank" reference to each and every thread.

Sure. Point noted. Just wanted to give him a hint that instead of buying canned goods in No Frills or FB, he can get it from the Food bank.
By Canadian leather jacket, I meant the Leather jacket that I bought in Chennai to combat the cold in Canada. I had rolled up the jacket and dumped it in my carry on bag, as you know the climate in Chennai

Was the posting useful to you?
You need to give us more information, so that we can tailor make the purchases for you.
Also if you are transiting via Dubai, Dubai may be a good place for you to pick up some stuff for home.

Please suggest what I should bring/do that is hard to find or cheaper.
I would suggest (apart from what Febpreet had stated):
1. Take vaccination like Typhoid, Hepa A,B,C, (Twinrix injections), tentanaus shot. (AIDS test can be taken free in Canada)
2, Good quality sweets
3. Pirated DVD's of movies or softwares
4, Medicines for frequent diseases (incl. antibiotics).
5. Exotic items like dye, specific hair oil
6. Masala's
7. Leather jackets, Ray Ban's (Made in India), leather purses, handbags
8. Shoes (I bought mine for Rs 560 which you may pay Rs 700 or 800 in Wolmart), Leather sandels
Hope this helps.
