Having a GORA friend is a status symbol back home.
So even if you don't have any GORA friends, take photos with some random Goras walking down the street and tell people back home, they are your Gora friends. This will impress them a lot.
Especially for dark dravidians like me and my (late) father, it is a status symbol.
When I posted my pictures showing me with Gora's at the office, many of my relatives were very jealous and some of them asked me how to migrate to Canada. My father , who worked in a village specifically told us to film him near Gora's as none of his friends will even look at the pictures for building but for white skin.
If you are a fair north Indian of a rich family, Gora's or otherwise will not be a matter .

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
Most Desi’s have Inferiority complexity.
They are mocked and ridiculed for tiny little things, for variations in physical features, skin color etc,
I THINK it has to do with our growing up training, at one point I used to be stereotyping.
We are brought up with low self-confidence and scare of rejection (girl, interview, prospects, friends, etc).
May be British rules has change a bit our our thinking for Gora’s. ( Gulami mentality- Gora’s superior etcc.. It’s not Gora’s but we try to avoid them and that make situation worse
Gora’s are also same as us , don’t be threaten or shy away from them – there was a time when we used to do Gulami under Gora but now time has change , lot of Desi business man has gora working under them.
We just need to have confidence on our self and thing work in our way .
I have many white, black, Asians friends but they are all normal.

Honestly I do not feel the need for having non Desi friends .
I love being among Desis due to cultural similarities.
When in Halifax , I did used to have a close office colleague and we both respected each other (and still do) , but though he invited , it did not get to a point of visiting home.
At times in public , I fight with the goras if needed and do not have any complex ... on the contrary not all of them are rich ... quite a few are poor and down trodden.
Just like I visit Indian restaurants , its my call with whom I socialize .

An electric Snow Thrower is more than enough for Toronto winters, so you don't even need a full fledged gas Snow blower.
U should come and help me with lawn mowing and snow shovelling. It keeps u very healthy AT. I bought electric snow blower before I bought my house.
all desi friends..its very difficult to mingle with non desi friends..my boss is an italian pretty close to me but still he is not my buddy. The fundamental issue here is we are very different from them, our food, our way of life, everything is different.
Whatever any one may say, these goras dont like we being here and the fact that we people come and do well here makes them more furious.
I had an incident today which goes to show how much goras hate us...again i am not trying to say that everyone is like that but yes if given an opportunity they would like to be this way. it is just that the laws of this country dont allow racial discrimination due to which we are protected.
Today while travelling in the train (GO train-which most of the GTA people would be aware of)..In peak hours the upper section of the train is quiet zone where people cant talk on the phone or between themselves. The bottom section of the train is where people can talk etc. There is a guy who always has problem when i talk in my mother tongue to my mom, I call my mom when i travel to work in the morning, but this was the 4th time this person gets so uncomfortable when i talk in tamil with my mom..couple of times he tried to push me by his shoulder while getting off the train. Today he kicked my bag, which made me furious..I told him that I understood what is making him so uncomfortable and he admitted that he cant tolerate the language i am talking as its not english. I told him that he could use the top zone of the train which is a quiet zone and in the future if he does this, I will go to the police.
Bottom line what I am trying to tell here is goras dont really like us..and they dont like to live in the place where we live. There are numerous examples in GTA where the goras have left the community and moved some where else because they still have the racial thought in them and cant live at the same place where we live

Congratulations!
Yes. Vivek. I can agree with you.
The advantage we have is that around 20% to 30% of the population is coloured and hence we donot feel it much.
Before, I used to visit RFD much. On the basis on annonymity, many feel that we have come to expolit the jobs and the healthcare in this country. This is what they think.
In many cases, we use Walmart, Bay, but houses etc.. so a business is generated. So the Gora's are happy. Just try to go from door to door to sell something to the Gora's. They will show you their faces.
Same case with schools. Many Gora/ Gori teachers feel that we have come to exploit their free education system. Precisely the reason why many chinses stores / indian stores exist in the GTA. We see only our people there.
In my office, I have experienced Racism. In my college (in Kitchener), I have experiened Racism. In my apartment, I have not experienced racism.
Some racism points :
1. They will give OT to the gora's but not us (when working salaried).
2. Gora's will not listen to your point of view in classes.
3. When you teach a Gora, infront of a Groa, Gora's will become offended.
But Racism is very sutle in Canaca. They say that India is very racist. Till today (through I am a dravidian), I have not experienced Racism in Kerala.
Over to you Adam Thorat now.
