AT.. Do not compare third world countries with first world countries. It's foolishness. Over population explosion is the cause for everything but remember, it has its own advantage too. They are not complaining and seem to enjoy their life and country so, who are we to complain. We have our share of problems like racism, obstacles in education, labour jobs and long waiting queue of patients in hospital, unemployment etc inspite of less population. see above crowded trains and their travelling cost and our travelling cost $141 X 50 = 7050 INR.
Our railway pass first class is INR 500 monthly.
Can you spot a relation between these 2 sentences from the same post ?

Fido.
My main motive to come to Canada is to make money. I came on an intra company transfer. I had about 9 years of experience in my field and my overall salary package in India was 10 lakhs per annum. (Monthly after tax take home around 60k inr)
Real estate had become really expensive and unaffordable for the middle class. If I have a paid off house, there is no need to go abroad.
I was surprised with the suggestions that I got when I came to this website for advice. But I have taken whatever that I am comfortable with.
I am not going to the food bank even if I get laid off. I will return to India

When you are in a good job, that is what you will say. Just get laid off and be without salary for a few months. your mindset will change.
I happened to advice on CD one person whose secret wife (they did not inform her parents of their marriage) was on a research job (work permit) at a Canadian university. Her husband (who has just B.Com) wanted to join her. They rejected his visa application a couple of times. He was so sad. He asked me for tips. He was cursing the Canadian immigration for not giving him a visa. He told me " why are they not giving me a visa for me to be able to visit my sick wife for a few months (she was diagonised with brain tumor in Canada. I am not going to stay here for ever".
After a year, he contacted me saying that he has got a visa and that his wife was better after a surgery. Now he told me that he had an open work permit and he wanted to get a job and then get a PR.
Just how Indian's mindset really is.

When I moved out of India to do my MBA here in Canada in 2011, my income in India was 7 lacs per annum. I moved out of india because I was not happy in India with my salary and life style. I could not see myself buying my own place or car and even if that was the case that would have been done with great difficulty. In canada even after taking a debt of 60,000 $ for MBA I could pay that off, buy a house, car etc. All this wouldnt have been possible in India within 3 years after my MBA graduation.
But people who dont come here with proper planning, who are not ready to invest here, and just want job from day 1 and reap all the benefits without giving back anything to Canada should not come here . Also people should understand the job market before coming here. People in IT/ Project Management/ Business Analysis have good opportunities here. People coming from niche areas for which there isnt much demand will have problems here. Another aspect is communication skills. Often immigrants come with poor communication skills. People should do a SWOT (Strength-Weakness- Opportunities- Threats) analysis before coming here.
People want to invest few thousands (2,000$-5,000$) on immigration+tickets and want a great job here. I dont think that works for everyone. Very few lucky people get that. For others one should be prepared to invest on education/certification/have plan B in place. I do part time mentoring at one of the new comer employment centre in GTA and I am disgusted at the attitude people are bringing in and yes this is specifically for people from India who are coming to Canada with the idea of looting Canada from day 1.
Can you justify your last statement. That sounds a bit too harsh
