Hello! Just curious but to people here face a lot of condensation and hence mould (black stains) on the windows.

I get this and wondering what to people typically do.

Also check the source of the problem, humidifier adjustment in winter and dehumidifier in summer.

This is problem at my home as well (15 years old). Have played around with humidifier, de humidifier, ventilations, temp control, vent fan but not much of the luck. Seems like the vacuum seal in the window panes is withered away after this long a period. Even tried to shift between blinds to curtains to both or none.

It happens on certain days only though. There is no one location isolated ( kitchen or living or bedroom/Wr) . It happens uniformly in all rooms on that particular day. Seems like its a combination of the remaining ability of window, weather conditions outside and humidifier settings not being as per the conditions.

I 'll keep watching for more answers.

A house that is well humidified has a tendency to form some moisture pockets as the w?ter tends to condense at the far corners at the bottom of a window?s glass panel.

That also indicates a poor circulations to an extent at a few ?reas and the inability of the air to remove the moisture formation at a few locations. It is a common occurance and a Little bit of work gets involved in its removal and if not done in its stride, you will see a Little blackening of the Wood and the caulking around the corners. Currently there are a few caulking tubes that are available on the market to take care of the so called mould. Worth a try as it only costs under five bucks or so.

Generally I wait for some one else to do it. They in turn think that I will do it. So, between the two of us it never gets done. But one fine day I swear and cuss and use a few of the four letter words, such as work, love, slog etc., and I buy a case of beer and use a lot of elbow greae and swing my arms into action and get that job of finishing the case, and the job gets done. After I finish that job, I stand a Little distance away from it and admire the Handy work done. Later on I stand in front of the mirror and smile at the figure in the mirror. Mmmm Congratulations, for job well done. Looks like a profesional job.

Its a great observation and very true. Easiest way to rectify circulation issue is run your fan 24X7 on furnace and open the drapes etc from time to time .
