Have logged in now after a break again just to see the progress with regards to actual day of the picnic. I still feel that it will rain even in the afternoon (POP 70%) so if there are people ready to have it on 14th, it might be a better idea. Sunday shows mainly cloudy which is ideal for a picnic in this weather.

I have not offered any help till date since I wanted the youngsters like Hiren, Ashwani and FIDO to take lead with mentorship from FH and SS (remember I was the one who organised the first ever meet of CD for about 70 persons in 2004!!!), but can help with a lot of other things, some of which are:

Grocery carts (one big one and two small ones, all with wheels)
Thermos for chai - 1 of 2 ltrs and 2 of 1 ltr
no mats but tarps - one big one (25 by 25) and one small one (about 10 by 10)
4 picnic chairs besides my own executive picnic chair ;)
Water dispenser - I think 15 ltrs
Two burners stove, if needed (propane will have to be bought though)

However, for all these, I will need some help, specially to carry back since I will leave the place by 4pm or so to attend a wedding downtown.

And yes, a few prizes too with no cost attached to them.

As for desserts, I feel that carrying of gulab jamuns will be difficult and messy, both in the car, as well as while serving. Similarly, a costco family cake would be great for about $18, but when kept outside in the heat, might melt! A good alternative can be a few boxes of bite size brownies from Costco (I think $7 each with 48 per box - so can buy about 3 of them). They will withstand the heat, will be easy to serve and clean to eat too.

Fido, Hiren and others, according to Weather Network chances of rain throughout the afternoon is high

https://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/hourly-weather-forecast/ontario/etobicoke

Accuweather says around 2 p.m., it will rain
http://www.accuweather.com/en/ca/toronto/m5h/hourly-weather-forecast/55488?hour=57

Is the picnic plan still good for this Saturday?

I have lots of space and can carry these back. We can coordinate later to drop it off at your place.

On a 3rd thought - I still don't know. Some people have plans for the Sunday and may not be able to come.

But in view of the impending rain forecast , adding a column to the spreadsheet for a possibility for the 14th .. Please put a Yes / No in that and we can decide based on that.

We can check tomorrow also as the forecast may change ... Everyone please help decide on this one - I am ok with either.

Hiren ~ Can you please add the link to the original post - it may be easy for people to refer there , for assignments and task updates as well.

Beverage cooler and couple of bags of ice.

Hi NYD ,

Thanks for the offer but the tablecloth we need is just a plastic one we might need to cover the food with ... I am sure who ever is getting the disposables (AG) can kindly bring that also .. They are available at Dollarama.

Cooler and ice may be needed before 2pm for snacks and pop .. SS can you help with that please ?

NYD ~ Kindly get the idlis / chutney from Nilgiris ..Would you be able to reach by 2 pm please ..

Are there no attendees from Brampton ??? Satish , Delhite , San Hugo ? Kindly advise if from Brampton.

I will definitely try to be there at the earliest, 2pm is the worst case scenario.
