On a side note : Costco does not have brand name for many medicines. They dispense generic salt and MAY NOT be as effective.
I am on Nexium ( antacid) for past 15 years and found ONLY branded medicine was effective atleast in this case.
Something to consider besides low dispensing fees.
I am in agreement with SH . Dispensing fee is one the biggest scam. Why every medicine on a prescription needs to have separate dispensing fee ? In contrary to Raj statement mark up on medicines is phenomenol.

Raj is right.
The mark up on prescription medicines for the manufacturer is phenomenal in Canada, but not for the retailers & pharmacy, like Rexall, Shoppers Drug Mart, Wal Mart.
The mark up is heavily regulated by the provinces and usually not more than 10 %, for the pharmacy. their major source of income is the dispensing fee, not the margin on the drugs.

Good discussions and good to hear.
However, in India, cost of medicines for normal diseaces is pretty low (not sure of how Cancer and other medicines would be).
In Govt. hospitals, the dispense all medicine for free for BPL Ration card holders.
In Places like Kerala, where the population is low, this is of great help as the hospitals are not that crowded (Govt.). I am hearing also that now TN Govt. hospitals are almost as good as some private hospitals.
