Hi All, I am moving to Canada with my family . This is our first time in Canada. I will be in Ontario and was looking for some rental suggestions in and round Kitchener . I have the option to work from home so open for any other locations in Ontario which can give me good and affordable accommodations .

Looking For
1) 2 bed room , preferably having dryer/washer in unit. I can afford rent upto 1400
2) Easy access to public transport ( I will not have car initially)
3) Easy access to Indian Grocery Shops.

I saw an apartment at 76 Sydney street south Kitchener not sure how the locality is .

Appreciate suggestions and recommendations .

The Main DRAG is around KING STREET, so look for a place close by. Choose rent under your budget of 1,400/Mnth as some might charge you for the utilities about $120/M. So squeeze a bit initially. If you go slightly out of your way, say 6 miles or 10 klicks away, you will get larger accommodations for the same rent.

The two Indian Grocers are ONKAR and Golden Indian Food & Spices. Then there are Local Chains, Food Basics, No Frills and Freshco. They all carry a Few good deals too.

SATURDAY/SUNDAY Whole day Pass $8.00 for the whole Family, Enjoy the ride and see the town. Also do your Groceries, ON THE LAST STOP and carry the best you can.

Only Apartments have W & D Rooms. A few rentals might have that as an option. So, put it as a last item on your rentals.

Thank you very much for the response and really appreciate your suggestions . I have tried calling few of the property folks however they dont seem to have a 2 bedroom available until jul/aug , I will keep trying and in between if you come to know of any availability please let me know.
Also forgot to mention i am relocating from USA so had few questions on that
1) Do you know how soon i can get a Canada license as my US license will expiry soon.
2) By any chance packers/movers who can help with my moving of goods from US to Canada.

Also is there a number where i can talk to you .
Once again thank you for the guidance and help.

Please check your P.M. FOR CONTACT DETAILS.

Close to where you are moving, there are Public Storage Units. You can store a few items there till you settle down. Costs under $100/month. Take One B.R. or Three B.R. and stretch yourself.

You can Drive here for 60 days with a IDP. Exchange your U.S. License for ONT. License with in 60 days. See LINK.

If your Company is paying for the move, go for it. If you are doing it by yourself, then, get prepared and there are movers who are there in the U.S. who will do for a low cost also. Arrange for the delivery to a P.S. Facility. Meet and store on a day convenient to both. There are RENTAL vans available for $20/day *+ Insurance. Move it by yourself. local help is $20/hr. min 4 hrs. Please Bring in only Sentimental items. Dispose off the rest.

Hope this helps.
