we are new to this community.. Would be very son applying for the immigration. want to check whether do we need to give the ielts test since I am a graduate with English as primary subject and has been working in GE for past 3+ years. My wife was also a call center executive for 3 years in GE serving US.

If you are close to pass marks ( 67) then I'd recommend you to take IELTS to assure 16 in IELTS.

Otherwise you can show written evidence of your work exp and studies in English

even though CIC clearly states here in BOLD that they strongy recommend to go for IELTS.

even though I had 76 marks (including 16 in Language) I was asked to write IELTS and provide score within 2 months of my interview.

As a standard measurement to award relevent marks to be given by the Visa Officer, they need a 3rd party proof of Language Skills. ( English or French)

CIC also suggests to have IELTS result to be submitted along with other documents.

Yes you have to take IELTS test. I was also having impression that I will score 16 marksand attached self written resume. IELTS test made it 10. Please prepare/ practice hard for IELTS test before attempting it and attach with your application.
