Hello,

I appeared in IELTS – General test on Sep, 2008 and scored enough points to support my application.

I am planning to apply my immigration application (FSW1) this year before Sep, 2009. My question is that can I use same IELTS test result to support my language proficiency factor in my application?

the validity of ielts according to my knowledge is one year

Thanks,
Abhishek

If it is valid then use it. If you think it is going to expire and needs to be re written, then please prepare for it. Score better marks in the next one too.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

Thnaks Freddie,

Logical my IELTS test result will expire on Sep2009 for canada Immigration (consider only one year result)

btw with addition of this ielts, i have 68 point as of now...i think, this is enough for Canada PR..... i m attending French Class too..so in Future, it would give me some more points...

In a game of Poker, you play with the cards you are dealt and you have in your hand.

Do not project the number of points you will have later. Please make sure you have enough points currently AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. Currently you have a Valid IELTS Score, so hammer the bloom while it is hot. You will get through. Since you are improving steadily, when you are ready for the interview, if you will be called for one, present the latest documents then, if you have completed the courses and you have the current scores also.

They go by what you have NOW. (to show)

Please be guided accordingly.

Freddie.

Hello Freddie,

Please help me.

I have understanding that, if I use my IELTS score card with below score card (for my application), then CIC will evaluate as per new rule and use new IELTS marking table for my language proficiency level.

Below is my IELTS result@ Appeared On Sep, 2008.
Listening : 6.5
Reading : 6.5
Writing : 6
Speaking : 6.5

Overall Band : 6.5

Can you guy let me know how much point I have in language proficiency level.

Thanks & Regards,
Abhishek

Here is the link that I have of last and the scores given to the levels achieved.

Please go to factor 2 : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

You will be given an 8 (Eight) for the level achieved. If you had two sevens, then might have scored a total of 10. I hope you took the General exam to score these. You can do better at the next sitting.

Sit down and concentrate on the subject matter. Speak in good English to a few people and listen to the Radio News and read and write for a good 30 minutes each day and keep up with it and do better the next time. I will commend upon the scores that you got, and they are very good.

Good Luck,

Freddie.

EDIT: upon further reading of the link, I note that you can score TWO 4's for the 6.5's that you have as your IELTS ranking. That brings your total to 12 (Twelve) That should make you happy. Freddie.
