well according to your theories, since they *have* to be better off than me because im in canada, and thus totally screwed, they should be SENDING ME money for roti kapda and makan... considering that since i immigrated to canada, by your theory i am starving like all the other immigrants...
they should be happy i can even afford happy thoughts and good wishes...
I earn my livelihood in Canada and pay my taxes. I get everything what i want from Canada. So Canada is giving me a better life.
Buying a car in Canada is not luxury and that too a civic Honda 1995 model, we confuse necessity and luxury. Even if I am doing well in desh, I may not have a centrally heated house or a central air conditioning. Here I will have centrally heated house because it is necessary. So, do I live a better life here than desh??
It is personal satisfaction, which lead to a successful life. For some; job is not important for satisfaction, money’s buying power is satisfaction. It is a disputable point…………….but for sure Canada is taking rather giving anything to us….taking away peace of mind, your time with your children………etc.

Hago_desi,
Though I am accountant by profession, I remember having read sometime in my high school science class, a principal (was it Bernauli's principal??) which says that if there is a passage available, gases from high pressure will move to areas of low pressure automatically - or something like having two jars having water at different levels, and if they were connected, water will automatically flow from high level to lower level jar till they are at the same level.
So what does it mean? If we come to Canada and get ill-treated (yes I am one of those you might say who form the 95% as per the original post in this thread), and the ill-treatment is more than that received in India/Desh, we will automatically shift back to our desh. But the fact that jago _desi and chandresh are not moving back means that we are getting more here than we could get 'back home', though our capacity to 'give ' remains the same. Yes, I have my own reasons not to go back - but the fact remains that even after all the sufferings of canada, I choose to remain here - unemployed and unfed at times because I find that living in India will be even more difficult for me.
Are bhaiya, ab yeh mat kahiyo ki accounting to aat nahi naukari layak, bhasan de rahe hai sintisht jaise.
So do not compare Canada in isolation - comapre with what are the conditions back home, and out of the two evils, which one do we chose to accept.
For most of us living in Canada, a cleaner air, better roads, water and electricity availability, etc. etc. are much more imporatnt than officer ki naukri or naukeron se bhara ghar but no regular supply of public utilities.
