Dear sir,

Recently, on 4th Sept. I have landed in Canada on Student visa, I m interested to study overhere. But I m also interested to do process of immigration for CANADA overhere immediately. Because my wife, 2 kids & parents are in India and I want to call them here.

My age is 33, complete 1 yr. University programme, have 12 years of Graphics designing woking experience. So, which is the best way to do the process & how much time will taken by the process ?

Hpe for positive reply.

Hi Himanbhatt,

As you have lot of experience you should go to official website for federal skilled worker immigration process

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/index.html</a>

And find out if you are able to score 67 points and if yes, you can apply in Buffalo, US as long as your study permit is valid for one yr from the date they recieve your application. Nobody can tell you how long this process takes .However, if you apply thru Buffalo it takes around 2 yrs which is significantly less than in India.

and there are some other provincial nominee Programs. Just check this link and you will be able to find links to offcial websites to explore your options

Correction on sukh's post:

You have to have been admitted legally for one year study to be eligible to submit your application at Buffalo.

Dear Massoodji

I am an international student in Toronto, I landed here in August. I wish to apply for Canadian immigration from buffalo consulate. I have the required 67 points (from the immigration tally) and I wish to apply as soon as possible.

My only concern is, that once I have filed my application at the buffalo consulate, will it create any difficulties for me to get a work permit for an internship(in canada) that I have to do next summer.

Looking forward to your reply.
With thanks

Thank you very much massoodji for your advice,

There is another doubt that I had in relation to my application. I got married in Canada a few weeks ago. My wife is also an international student on student visa. According to the officers, our marriage certificate will arrive only after 4-5 months.

In this case would you suggest that we apply without the marriage certificate and then send the certificate later to the consulate at buffalo or should we send our application after we get our certificate ?

Would sending the application without the certificate delay our process?

Looking forward to your reply,
Thanks once again
