The TOEFL exam results are valid for a certain period only Isuppose - you will have to find out the same.

However, it is advisable to take the test only in grade 12 shortly before one is ready to apply for admissions to university, since the scores are directly sent by the examinining authority to the university/ies of your choice.

Chandresh,
Your information about TOEFL seems to be flawed. My son did his schooling in India, passed his 12th this year and he is doing his engineering from the Western Uni, London-ON. He was not required to go for either TOEFL or IELTS. As regards to the Tests conducted by the School Board for grading the student, the same procedure as narrated by Margo was followed in my daughter's case. They moved her up one grade.
Bhishma.

Surprisingly, I got this information from Western Ontario yesterday in the Universities Fair.

I got this info also from one of my friends regarding Queen's University as well as their booklet which they hand out at the fair.

I also know that my wife's friend's son is studying in Western Ontario (got in this year) and he had to appear for TOEFL and his admission got delayed because of that.

Funny, isn't it!

Chandresh

PS Your son did his 12th from Canada or from some other country?

Hi Chandresh!
My son completed his 12th from India. It was ISC - (Delhi Board) and secured 88% in his exams there. This Secondary School Certificate is affiliated with Senior Cambridge. Perhaps that might be the reason he was exempted from any of the English tests. This is what I presume after your inputs. Thanks anyway.
Bhishma.
