hi Veronica,
you need to have visitor visa with your work permit to enter into Canada if your country is not on visa waiver list so the best option for you is to apply for Visitor visa thru buffalo, you can apply thru mail and it takes around 15 days

Hi Veronica,
First of all In-Canada family class is designed for person who has legal temporary status but once you go out of country you are not longer a temporary resident which makes you ineligible for PR as it’s shown on this guide. I’m just going to highlight some of important contents I found on official website
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/guides/5289E8.html" target="_blank">http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/guides/5289E8.html</a>
**If:
Your spouse or common-law partner leaves
Canada while the application is being processed
There is no guarantee that they will be allowed to re-enter Canada. This is especially true if they require a visitor visa**
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/guides/5289E10.html" target="_blank">http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/guides/5289E10.html</a>
**Warning: If you leave Canada before permanent residence is approved there is no guarantee that you will be allowed to return or re-enter Canada. This is especially true if you require a visitor visa. Your application may be refused or delayed if you no longer have temporary resident status to qualify as a member of the Spouse or Common-law partner in Canada class**
You should go thru this whole guide
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/guides/5289ETOC.html" target="_blank">http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/guides/5289ETOC.html</a>
and also Keep in mind that in these in-land cases there is no right of appeal, so think twice before you leave canada

thank you sukh
i guess i was aware of this and was hoping that i could find a way to visit my parents...now i am going to wait till i get my PR ..which i believe will take another 6 months...i applied in the month of May 2004 , my application is under process as it shows on the cic website....so if i am not wrong i am looking at another six months before i even think of travelling?
but i really appreciate you taking time and replying to my questions...thank you once again...
have a wonderful day
i have been reading a lot of responses on Charcha and i think my case is unique...i came here on a student visa and got married to a citizen, when we applied for my PR from within canada, i had no idea it will take so long before i get my PR( its been almost six months and i haven't heard fromthem)...i should have gone back to india and let my husband apply for me through outside canada category....
has any one been in a similar situation....i would love to hear from you and your experience and how much time it took before you or your spouse received the PR.
cheers
