It's a week to the US polls now.
Who do you support and why?
Who do you think will win?
What will be the effect on the world of either winning?
Come on, let's put it on the burner!

1) Kerry...closer to my political beliefs.

2) Hopefully Kerry (its a 50 - 50 right now). Impossibel to say.

3) The tone of world politics will change but that wont stop America as the preeminent power in the world. they are not suddenly packing and going home. they are there for a reason. Its corporate interests are huge and the strategic position of the gulf is too important to let go, no matter who is in power. If they dont the EU will step in. It seems to be a tussle between the EU and US.

Time will tell, of course.

In what sense exactly? AFAIK, he has indicated his opposition to outsourcing jobs. Wouldn't that would be detrimental for India.

The US has a rather weird electoral system. They have a a popular vote and at the same time something called the "electoral college". Anyone know exactly how this damn stuff of their's works? I tried reading on it but would prefer a simpler explaining.

I am not talking about the US's position in the world. My question is about its effect on the middle east and the PLO problems etc. Will it increase terrorism and terrorist attacks on the US and its allies? The most sought after terrorist ObL is presumably still at large. The Iraq adventure has proven to was a disaster for the US. Will the mideast situation worsen or improve and how? Will it help in resolving the PLO/Israeli standoff in any way?

I support Kerry as he opposes outsourcing and there will be more jobs /oppurtunities for us in North America. What is good for India *always* is not good for us as we have to earn our bread and butter through jobs in US/canada and not India.

My 2 cents

Smiley,

Outsourcing is good for Canada too. if Kerry decides to stop outsourcing, ppl in Canada will suffer the most..

I don't see any change in the outsourcing pattern in the years to come. No matter who becomes the president, its always the corporates in US which will be the real leader. Nobody can afford to go against their wish.

We all know that the war in Iraq was also because of corporate interests.
