I landed in canada in September and came back to India after getting the stamp.

I got married last month here in Bangalore . I have no plans to go to canada right now. Can i sponsor my wife , with both of us living in INdia? Any idea how long it takes.

Why do you want to sponsor your wife when you have no plans of living in Canada?

Anyway, you cannot sponsor anyone if you are not living in Canada.

Actually I do have plans to move to Canada, but I need time to plan. So I need the next 4-6 months to plan, look for any IT jobs and collect some resources.

So, I thought I would take the mean time to apply for my wife's PR.

If I cannot apply for my wife's PR sitting here in India, what is the alternative so that I can take my wife along when I move there.

If I decide to go there alone for eg. in April 2005 , and then apply for my wife's PR, how long will it take?

Once in Canada, you can apply. Process out of N/Delhi is taking no more than 10 months [if there's no complicating factors].

Lawyers are trying to argue that a PR should be allowed to sponsor spouse from outside Canada. Wait and see ...
