Hi,
This post is for those who bought some stuff (like appliance, electronic goods etc) couple of weeks before Boxing Day
I actually bought appliances from Futureshop on first week of December .That time also I got a good deal but on Boxing day I noticed they even gave a better deal on Dryer/Washer combo deal which is almost $100 less which I paid up.I visited the shop with the advertisement and they agreed to match that price.
Same thing happened for my printer which I bought almost one month back from CanadianTire and on Boxing day they slashed the price even lower($30 down which I pactually payed up) .When I called up their customer service department that lady was so nice she credited back the difference amount to my canadiantire credit card.
Most of the North American companies have good price protection policy so it's a good idea to check the price for next couple of weeks if you bought any high price stuffs

Happy holidays:cheers:

Hi Smartguy,
You are right for following cases normally price protection rule is not valid
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
limited or minimum quantity or limited time offers, close-outs, liquidations, clearances, and special financing offers
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Apart from these most of the cases you can still enjoy price protection policy
The catch is you need to show the proof of the lower price (Either from flyer or downloaded print from internet) with your bill.
Normally price protection is to guarantee customer about the price and also to gain confidence and goodwill and protection period varies across companies!!
For futureshop price protection is applicable for next 30 days from day of purchase for most of the stuff(for computers 2 weeks)
For Corbeil this is applicable for next 4 months!!!:)
For CanadianTire normally it is between 1 week to 2 weeks but if you buy via their credit card they consider beyond that period
Happy shopping

btw: Limited time means promo applicable for only couple of hours.
Boxing day(26th Dec) is not considered as a limited time offer .Actually I got money back from futureshop by showing boxing day price:)

I did the same too on a couple of items I had bought recently.
At both FutureShop and BestBuy, there are huge queues in the customer service counter.
Most of the people were there for price matches or returns.
This is perhaps the only time of the year when the queue at the returns counter is longer than the check-out :o
