Its been almost a month now since I landed. I drove from the US. Imported my car at the border. Didnt face a single problem. The people at immigration were very nice. They even said if I have to go back to attend some unfinished business before I get my PR card, all I have to do is enter the country in a private vehicle.
The processing time for me was around 2 1/2 years.
As far as finding a job is concerned, I am working on my Resume (canadizing it), and also I will be joining a IT job search program at Jobstart, so you can say that I havent started looking for a job yet.
One thing I have noticed after landing here is it is so difficult to find friends here in Canada. Either the desis are very busy, or they arent outgoing at all (seriously hoping that isnt true).
Come on people, lets get together for a beer. It's 5 o'clock somewhere.
where r u in Canada

Kabeer, Since you said you drove from US can you let me known what all modal formalities were required, I would have to do the same since i would be driving from US but i dont intend to stay there, just apply for what all is required and then be back

depends if you want to import your car into canada. if you are just visiting for a few days i would suggest renting a car and driving into canada. let me know if you need more details.
Quote:Just make sure that you include the car in your Goods to Follow list, if you want to import it later.

when do i need to submit Goods to follow list? I have some stuff which i would want to move but later on , not at the time of entrance through driving or so?
Also If i take a rental car and take inside the border what kind of objections and formalities would i need to do? assuming the rental car company exists in canada as well?
