Hi fellas,

This is for the first time I have been on this site. It is wonderful. Let me thank the admin. for coming up with this wonderful platform for Desis to open their hearts out. Good job.

I read lot of messages from new and rather not so new immigrants on their difficulties for finding a 'decent' job.

I came to Canada six years ago, worked odd jobs in a store, two shifts etc. Got into telemarketing, insurance and gradually built up. I encashed my Canadian experience at each at every stage. Today, I work as a Senior manager with one of the top 5 banks in Canada. Now I am not here to boast about myself , however would like to help my fellow desis from my experiences.

The key here is to encash experience of each and every day in Canada. I read somebody positioning telemarketing as a low profile job. Well, let me tell you that where ever I am today , a big thanks goes to telemarketing.

Enough of lectures eh, what is the bottom line.

I have an idea, which might be worth trying.

All banks have internal postings which if not filled later become public.
Now the idea is, if you apply for the job before the job goes public you are already ahead of the game.

Come next week I will try to find some postings (generally Frontline advisors, Financial analysts , Business analysts , product mangers etc.). Next week because I am on vacation this week. If some body is interested they can send me their resume and I can refer you.
Let me tell you upfront, I am not from HR or interested in referal $ either. So please eliminate this thought.
I have been through rough times and trying to help. I am not sure if this works but even if one of you gets a job, my efforts would be worthwhile.

God Bless.

Hi Rajog,

Got your mail. You may send me your resume at the same email address, however would like to clarify one thing upfront. Expect denials due to lack of Canadian experience. But hey, who knows there is no harm in trying.

All the best bud..

Kudos 2 u Tenidas for ur brilliant effort in trying 2 help genuinely and motivating others in the stride .

U bet networking pays big time in getting still 2 b advertised jobs . No denying that . i wish others can also join in in posting jobs they learn of in addition to those who r already doing that .

Way 2 go !!
