I am sure any Desi that watched the documentary felt shame. And so we should. Some have expressed that here.
The point however is... what are we going to do about it? The people featured in the documentary live among us. We (collectively speaking) know them. They know us. Feeling guilt and crying shame is not a solution. Looking at the Goverment(s) to regulate this aspect of our lives is futile and at best, wishful thinking. Pointing fingers (at Punjabis) is gross generalization. While the documentary singled out the a few punjabis, we know that it is more widespread than that.
So the challenge I would like to put out there is
WHAT ARE DESIs GOING TO DO ABOUT IT??
