Just read a bumper sticker on a car in Brampton

"read christ in ancient vedas"

The guy was driving a black coloured buick.

If he is reading this message, can he explain, what he is trying to say? No offence, but I feel, posting such bumper stickers on a Christian dominated country, can cause unnecessary controversies IMHO. Also, it is difficult to believe, that Christ would be influenced by Vedas

Meghal :(

Google says "Christ in Ancient Vedas" is a book.

Actually, the bible does not say anything about Christ from his 12th to 30th year. These years have most likely been influential in the formation of his ideas and philosophy. Its very likely that he travelled widely in those years(as many theorize). Theres even a book that Jesus died in Kashmir(apparently his tomb is still there).

Anyways...there are a lot of similarities between the Gita And the Bible. The introduction of Juan Mascaro in his transalation of the Gita (Penguin Classic...should be available in any public library in Canada) is a good one to read for the same. The author also talks about the Upnishads and the other texts of the vedas.

Ofcourse it may all be a coincidence. Then again, since its about GOD...maybe not ;) .

As a Christian, I'm not offended at all about the sticker. Most Canadian Christians are openminded and are probably not going to be offended either...if at all they know what 'ancient vedas' mean.:p .

Ofcourse, there are always going to be people who ARE offended.

It is bad to give a quick response, but why do they mention Hinduism as a "pagan" religion? Hinduism does not mean witchcraft and other such practices:(
