Those who live in Greater Vancouver:

Would anyone like to get together in the spring ? We had a CD meet last May.

We can start a new thread if necessary..

Hi

Seems we are developing Burnaby community on this site. We are moving in Last week of April. As usual, have got lot of queries. Will jot down few of them here. Will sincerely appreciate guidance.

1. How is McPherson Avenue area? Are rentals available? How much would one bedroom set basement / apartment cost?

2. Which is the best telecom company to go for landline, mobile and internet? What is the best option for long distance telephone calls to India?

3. How is the public transit system in Burnaby?

4. How is Burnaby connected with Surrey and Vancouver? How much time is taken by buses and skytrain?

Will have more questions later.

1. Mcpherson area is ok and rentals are available everywhere. 1 Bedroom can cost you in between $700 - $ 950.00.

2. It depends on your choice, but Telus is most popular for landline, Shaw/Telus for internet, Mobile - Telus/Rogers/Fido, etc. depends on your requirement.

3. Transit system - OK in burnaby.

4. Burnaby is well connected by skytrain to Vancouver/Surrey. It can take one second to 2 hours to travel in between Vancouver/Burnaby. Look at the translink.bc.ca website for specific information.

Your queries are very general and you can google for all the above info. If you have any specific query, you can PM me.

Hi Ash20

Thanks for the information.

Actually, I did search the net but could not get much about McPherson Avenue. Also was not able to decide on phone/mobile connection. But with your replies, I now have a better idea.

Could you please inform about the cable tv system? What channels are available? Do they provide access to Indian channels too?

Thanks again.

Shaw/Bell Express/Telus are some of the options available for you. Check respective websites for more details.

Some indian channels are available on all the networks.
