Hello All,

Landed on Rainbow bridge and the immigration officer did not like our answers of we will move permanently after few months,

He did not allow us to give my friends address as contact !

He did allow us to land and gave a address notification forum , I can definelty say our Immigration officer is very cold and he even wrote Canada PR on the Primary applicant Advance Parol(US) .

We ended up showing our Advance Parol as he insisted on our 140 , Looks like we did not prepare well ,
while retruning to US , we got new 140 based on our Advance Parol ,

After landing to US I went to the cic.gc.ca website and gave my friends address , I will fax the form tomorrow

Gurus I am not sure if this enough ! Please advice me the path to follow .
We have a good job in US and we would like to stick in US and try our luck ,

On the other hand we don't want to loose our Canada PR. If our US card comes well and good ! Else we will definelty move to Canda , in the mean time we would like to make some much needed cash !

Please give us your valuable suggestions on which way we can get our PR , with least possible stay in Canada

How long should I wait ? 7 years , with my H1b employer exploiting me ,
due to various reasons I could not file GC in time,
I was in US for 6 + years and just waiting for 12 years for GC is a big time

Well
I understand.. but what exactly are you going to achieve by getting canadian PR? .. if you got I140... and advanced parol.. I am assuming you already have EAD or are closer to getting one..
Once you get EAD you are free after 6month period..
What am I missing here?
Reason for this is.. I have friends in a similar boat.. and after LC and 140 clearance they don't look back..
Meanwhile you can also take a yr long sabbathical.. if you worked this long.. you might have enough funds to tide you over.. it's much fun to do that in India for a year than string along here in Canada.. esp if you have tasted US market for so long.. India.. you loose the money but atleast social compensation is there..
option might not work out.. but there's this knee-jerk aversion to going back to India among vast number of people.. and I have seen people coming around once they get over initial reluctance and look at things objectively and run some numbers..
Just wondering if you've done that..

I have my approved 140 and pending 485( i.e waiting for the GC approval )

I don't want to go back to India, and Changing Jobs yeah , but there are other complications as we need to find a similar job titile etc ,
it will be very difficult to have a job with similar duties with 7 + years

So I want to see how it goes for next couple of Years , and if the GC process does not move , I want to go to canada which is the closet thing to US,

Once we get the citizen ship I can move back to US ,
i.e the only reason why I want to get mY Canada PR

If at all you come here in about 1 year ( 2006 )

fulfilling residency requirements for citizenship 3 years + some occassional visits outside of canada ( 2009-2010 )

Apply an obtain citizenship 15 months ( 2011-12)

How soon you intend to come in and go out of canada

lot of desis have thought similarly and are stuck here....
