Hi. After I Land, I am planning to live in a temporary shared accommodation in Toronto. I also have some close family-friends in Toronto. Now, At the time of Landing can I give their address (friends' address) to the immigration authorities? I am not sure how long I will live in that temporary accommodation place. So, I don't want the PR card to arrive at a undependable address. Is that ok?
Also, later on when I apply for Ontario Health Plan (OHIP), at that time they ask for proof of residence. Can I give myfriends' address on the application form? I mean can I mention 2 addresses? One being the Mailing Address and the other "Residential Address". Is doing the above possible?
I will appreciate feedback from people who have been through similar situations.
Thanks,
Aseem.
The PR card should come within a month. Therefore I think you should be safe giving your friend's address. I think for OHIP you will need to show proof of address so something like a bank statement or some other government mailing to that address. So applying for your health card may be a diff issue.
