I m looking for someone who can clean the house twice a week.What is the average rate?Where should I check?Is it safe to hire someone to come to your house thru craiglist?

It is not safe through Craigslist. I'm sure the majority are fine at cleaning and honest but it is an occupation that allows workers access to your home and that may attract some who will steal. Unless you know or have a strong referal for a casual cleaner you should look for someone who is bonded.

The big companies like MollyMaid are very expensive as they work in teams of two and have use of a company car. I think my boyfriend was paying $80 for a small condo which I thought was far too much. On the other hand my coworker pays her cleaning lady $20 and the lady brings her daughter to help - it works out to less than minimum wage each which IMHO is too low.

Since Mollymaids are expensive, is there any other professional company who is reasonable and trustworthy?

I will be scared to go thru craiglist or anyone unknown.

I'm sorry I don't know of any specific companies in your area. I should be clear: there could be bonded house cleaners on Craigslist, it is specifically people looking for causal or under the table work that I would be cautious of because you really know nothing about them and have no insurance to protect you if they steal from you.
