If you are asking whether you can import your car, yes you can. Visit http://www.riv.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK for details. You will not pay any duties or tax other than the fee of about $190 and the cost of doing the required modifications.

If you are asking whether you can import after one year of landing, I don't know. Maybe someone else can pitch in. Hope this helps.

Again, all details about importing are available at http://www.riv.ca." rel="nofollow">LINK

I believe import duties are waived only for newly landed immigrants, who are importing the car as part of their landing.
The requirement is that the car should be included in your GTF list.

Car can be imported any time.
Only issue is whether you have to pay import duties/taxes or not.
I assume you have already checked that the car is importable in the first place or not.

Agreed with pratickm.
I assume in your case, the car was not included in GTF list.
You will have to import it.
A friend of mine went thru the same situation.
He paid some customs duty and GST - Which was around 3K for 20K valued car. (3year old carolla)
On top of that you will have to need to get federal and provincial inspections and modifications which turns around to be C$300-400

If your car is petty much new, in my views this hassel is totally worth.
