hi,
one quick question. do i need fumigation certificate for some furniture that i might bring into toronto? i know it is better to have one for the wood used to make crates.

What are the charges you are paying to bring the furniture as i am thinking of moving back to india and not sure if worth taking the furniture to india.

i am moving from india to toronto so i expect the charges to be different. anyhow we r yet to fix it which will happen in a day or 2. will let u know the rates if u still need them.

When I shipped my stuff last year, the shipping company's agent raised the same issue. I recall I have checked that and concluded that if you're using any timber boxes for packing, then these are the ones that you should prove to have been fumigated. Normal furniture does not need to have a certificate for fumigation as this is done by defult. Try not to use timer boxes.

Thanx for the info. Yes that is largely the belief that packing wood must have a certificate. Any clue on how it is done? Will they spray the chemical inside the crate boxes too?

let me know the details of the shipment... the product, quantity (is it a full container ??. 20' ?? 40' ?? , what kind of a deal u have with ur shipping agent (door to door, port to port, etc...) )
