Without trying to get into the middle of this discussion, I wanted to back you up on the above statement.

Rani Mukherjee, Kajol and Karishma Kapoor are three actresses that I have seen in the past couple of years doing some substantial acting and in thought provoking films. Another two that I admire are Juhi Chawla (I think the movie was teen deewaren) and Lisa Ray (Water) etc.

She knows how to be in media even after giving only one hit movie in her entire career. There were all rumours about her being cast as a next Bond girl. What happened? Eventually everybody found out that it was a rumour spread by her publicist.

And about her so called "international assignments", the only "international" movies she has done are with Gurinder Chadha. Except for her apperance on David Letterman show, I don't think Hollywood is even looking at her.

It is nauseating to see Indian media continuosly obsessed with just one character. She is beautiful, but thats it. She has no talent whatsoever. So she has to continously remain in publicity to cover up for her lack of "talent".

Boy, Mehghal,

After reading ur post, it seems like u really dislike Aishwarya......she is just an actress..Granted she has no talent and is riding/rising mostly on her looks.....But you really sound like u have something personal against her.

dont like her....ignore her.....its not like she is obsessing over ur life? is it?

:icecream:

The weekend is just around the corner....cant wait for Fanaa..I'll be waiting for ur review on that one.

:D :D

Rani, Kajol and juhi are in my list of talented actresses aswell...am not too sure about Karishma. I dont remember watching any good movies of hers. or maybe i missed something?

If you like to watch thought provoking movies then you should watch "astitva" . it stars tabu and it came out ,i think in 2000. it one one of those movies that just remain with you...I saw it when i was in college .Its about a married women struggling to find her own identity..The story line is very gripping and Tabu has done an excellent protrayal of the character.

I have seen astitva. It was good. Karishma in 'shakti' sticks out to me... she was ok in Fiza.

For fluffy films, I prefer kareena over aishwariya though.
:)
